Santa Barbara’s chart set is weighted towards departure planning, with seven departure procedures against three approach plates. The approaches serve only two runway ends, but include ILS/localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR options, concentrating varied instrument coverage on part of the runway system rather than spreading it across all six ends.
Runway 07/25 provides 6,052 ft, while the parallel 15/33 runways are each about 4,180 ft; that difference makes the chosen alignment significant when assessing usable runway length. Among nearby fields, Point Mugu NAS has almost equally broad chart coverage, followed by Oxnard and Camarillo, while Santa Ynez and Lompoc have much thinner sets.
