Instrument coverage

Every end of Shreveport Regional’s two runways has a published approach, so coverage is not concentrated on one alignment or direction. The mix of ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) procedures provides both ground-based and satellite-based options. One ILS also carries CAT II/III minima, a capability not shared by the other approaches. Runway 14/32 is 1,345 ft longer than 06/24, giving the two alignments a meaningful difference in available length.

Regional chart context

Barksdale AFB has slightly broader chart coverage, while Shreveport Downtown has a comparably substantial set. C E ‘Rusty’ Williams, Harrison County and Vivian each have much thinner coverage. The Memphis Sectional adds the broader VFR depiction around Shreveport that the terminal instrument procedures do not provide.
