Approach coverage

Syracuse Hancock’s procedure set serves all four ends of its two runway alignments. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS), localiser and VOR procedures provides several instrument options rather than concentrating coverage on a single runway; one ILS also carries CAT II/III minima. With both runways exceeding 7,000 ft, the field is not limited to short-field aircraft, while the differing alignments give arrivals and departures more than one directional choice.

Regional chart context

Nearby procedure coverage is markedly thinner. Oswego County and Griffiss International have the broadest chart sets among the listed neighbours, while Skaneateles Aero Drome, Hamilton Municipal and Whitfords have only small collections. The New York Sectional adds the wider VFR context that terminal procedure charts do not provide.
