Each of Rantoul’s four runway ends has an RNAV (GPS) approach, giving both runway alignments balanced instrument coverage rather than concentrating procedures on a single direction. The two runways are also close in length: neither offers a materially longer option, so their practical distinction within the published data is alignment rather than available distance.
Vermilion Regional has chart coverage equal in scale to Rantoul, while University of Illinois/Willard and Central Illinois Regional/Bloomington-Normal have appreciably broader procedure sets. Frasca Field and Paxton are much more thinly covered. The Chicago and St Louis sectional charts add wider visual-planning context beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
