British Caledonian Douglas DC-10-30 1977
This specially crafted British Caledonian DC-10-30 rendition by SGA integrate…
British Caledonian’s 1980 Douglas DC-10-30 livery brings classic long-haul tri-jet flair to FS2004 with crisp period markings, full animations, and dynamic wing flex that reacts to turbulence, takeoff, and landing. Updated flight dynamics tuned with DC-10 pilot input sharpen CF6-style thrust response and handling, and it requires SGA1030.ZIP.
Pilots interested in expanding their FS2004 fleet with a robust, long-haul tri-jet will find this British Caledonian Douglas DC-10-30 repaint by SGA and Frank Idone especially noteworthy. It features updated flight handling, comprehensive animations, and a faithful visual representation of British Caledonian’s 1980-era livery.
The development team at SGA has introduced dynamic flexing wings (sometimes referred to as variable wing geometry for load simulation). These wings carefully shift their angle in response to airflow, turbulence, and maneuvering phases. Such an enhancement provides a more immersive feel when departing runways or settling onto the tarmac. Meanwhile, the external textures display detailed markings aligned with British Caledonian’s historical branding, highlighting the airline’s place as a British independent carrier that served a broad range of international routes.

SGA refined the internal flight model with guidance from an actual DC-10 pilot, thereby enhancing climb rates, thrust performance, and control surface behaviors. These improvements capture the genuine responsiveness of the CF6 powerplants that typically equipped the DC-10 series. Pilots will notice adjustments in lift, roll, and yaw authority as they explore the extended operational range of this -30 variant, which was known for its added fuel capacity and optional center main landing gear assembly that accommodated heavier payloads.
Before installing this aircraft repaint, ensure you have the base pack file SGA1030.ZIP. That package contains essential model data and core files necessary for functionality within FS2004. Without it, the dynamic wing features and certain flight characteristics will not load correctly.
Unzip the downloaded repaint folder directly into your FS2004 Aircraft directory. The contents will merge into the appropriate subfolders. Following that, locate the aircraft.cfg in your DC-10 folder and append the configuration entry shown below. Keep in mind that each new repaint requires a sequential number for [fltsim.X]. If your current fleet has four DC-10 repaints, edit this new entry to become the next available index.

description=Model by SGA, British Caledonian repaint by Frank Idone. The Series 30 offered considerably improved payload and range capability with increased fuel capacity and thrust, which necessitated an increase of 10 feet in wingspan and the addition of a center main landing gear assembly. Most popular of all the variants, a total of 206 Series 30s were built, including 27 -30CFs, 4 extended range -30ERs, and 12 pure freighter -30Fs. Unlike the Series 10, most -30s were ordered without the optional lower deck galley to allowed increased cargo capacity. First revenue flight for a Series 30ER was on December 15, 1972 with Swissair. The Series 30CF (Convertible Freighter) was first certified in March 1973 and placed into revenue service in April 1973.

Every repaint must have an appropriate [fltsim.X] placeholder. For instance, if this repaint marks your fifth DC-10 listing, allocate the X as 4 or 5 (modifying that line accordingly). Adjust your title, ui_variation, or texture entries only if they conflict with existing names.
Developers: The core model and conceptual work are by SGA, while Frank Idone contributed the authentic British Caledonian repaint. This combination delivers a finely tuned tri-engine jet that is well suited for sim enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of the DC-10’s history and operation.

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.
FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.The archive dc103bc2.zip has 30 files and directories contained within it.
This list displays the first 500 files in the package. If the package has more, you will need to download it to view them.
