This package provides a detailed repaint reflecting Air Ukraine’s Yakovlev-40K variant and is specifically designed for FS2004 pilots seeking additional authenticity. It serves as a texture-only enhancement that requires the separately available SCDS Yakovlev-40 v1.2RC add-on. Developed by SCDS and featuring livery work by Maxim Mysin, this freeware release offers an extra layer of immersion for enthusiasts of short-haul Soviet-era aircraft.

Overview

The Yakovlev-40, often abbreviated as “Yak-40,” was introduced as a small tri-engine jet designed for regional routes across the USSR, CIS nations, and beyond. Its compact size and rugged design allowed it to serve hard-to-reach airports with shorter runways. This particular Yak-40K version provided additional cargo capabilities, making it a versatile option for both passenger transport and freight operations.

Key Features

  • Authentic Livery: High-resolution exterior textures accurately representing Air Ukraine’s Yak-40K scheme, meticulously created by Maxim Mysin.
  • Full Integration: Seamless compatibility with the SCDS Yakovlev-40 v1.2RC platform (required base package is available separately).
  • Realistic Model: Once installed, these textures integrate with the detailed SCDS package, which features a fully functional virtual cockpit, complex autopilot, working course system, and advanced animations.
  • Additional Systems: The base aircraft (published separately) incorporates two operational ADF units, authentic engine startup procedures, retractable landing lights, and a range of other dynamic features.
