Overview of Marsh Harbour Airport scenery.
The airport resides at an elevation of 6 ft (1.8 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 09/27 with an asphalt surface measuring 6,100 ft (1,859 m). According to the Abaconian newspaper, the government is looking at the construction of a new terminal at Marsh Harbour to replace the current terminal, which is too small for the number of operators at that facility. R&B Singer Aaliyah died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001 along with 8 others. The cause of the accident was the plane being over-gross (overweight) making a successful takeoff impossible.
I was unable to find any information whether the airport has a functioning ILS. Should you come across any information, please pass it along and I will update the airport to show it.
Changes include:
- Moved the runway and increased its length.
- Change the old runway to a taxiway.
- Added taxi signs.
- Added Approach Frequency.
- Modified parking, taxiways, and aprons.
- Added fuel truck.
- Added buildings and roadways.
- Change local land classes from farm to forest.
