FSX Islamabad International Airport Scenery

Islamabad International Airport (OPRN/ISB) is rebuilt for FSX with a highly detailed layout, improved landclass, and updated roads and nearby buildings for a more believable approach environment. It adds realistic stand sizing, static military aircraft, marked disused runway 09/27 with a usable start, and smarter AI departure turns.

A remake of the basic FSX scenery of Islamabad Airport (ISB/OPRN) in Pakistan. Highly detailed airport with altered landclass, roads and buildings immediately surrounding it. Chaklala International Airport (more recently named after the late Benazir Bhutto) is a cramped and overcrowded airport, shared with the Pakistan Air Force and with no room to expand.

The main runway is 11,000 feet, served by just three entry points requiring aircraft to backtrack the runway. There are five stands for 747 sized aircraft in this scenery, and six for 737s etc. Static fighter aircraft are positioned around the airfield dispersals and military apron. Many (stock) buildings and hangars included to make it slightly more realistic. Runway 09/27 is now disused but is still marked, and a start point is included for runway 27 (6000 feet x 90 feet). AI aircraft turn for takeoff at the displaced threshold turning circles instead of full length, decreasing runway occupancy times a little.

Copy and paste all 4 'OPRN_ADEX' named files into your main FSX / Addon scenery / Scenery directory. ie these four files should then appear inside the 'scenery' directory within the addon scenery folder of your main fsx directory structure.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place scenery in Addon Scenery

Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.
Activate in Scenery Library

In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Finding the scenery

Use these coordinates to fly directly to this location once the mod is installed.
