The aircraft, coded VH-EKN, is a regional short connection airliner of Ansett Australia, that flies to regional inland Cities around New South Wales and Victoria. In 2002, Ansett Australia has stopped operation and when the airline went bankrupt, both Kendell and Hazelton airlines sold all of their SAAB 340 aircraft fleet to a new regional airline company today known as Regional Express (REX).
