FS2004 Bristol 170 Freighter

The Bristol 170 Freighter brings rugged postwar cargo hauling to FS2004, modeled for short, unprepared strips and heavy-lift utility flying with a straightforward virtual cockpit and authentic character. Includes base unpainted textures for repaints and requires the default Douglas DC-3 gauge file Douglas_DC3.cab for full panel instrumentation.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

Ugly, but functional, the 170 was designed to be simple, rugged and reliable. It wasn't a speed demon, but it could lift heavy loads from short, unprepared strips. By Mike Stone.

This aircraft is built for FS2004. The aircraft should work in FS2002, but I long longer directly support it. I know that the GPS gauge used in the panel will not work in FS2002.

The base textures folder in this zip file contains base (unpainted) texture files for use in repainting.

Note that the aircraft supplied in this package is supplied as is. If there are problems, I'll fix them or not at my discretion. I will not make modifications, alternate versions, or any other changes to suit anyone's personal wishes. If you like this aircraft, use it with my blessings. If not, feel free to delete it and go elsewhere.

Installation:

Simply copy the entire "b170" folder contained in this zip file to the "/Flight Simulator 9/aircraft" folder on your PC.

As this package uses gauges from the default DC-3, it will be necessary to copy the file "Douglas_DC3.cab" from the /aircraft/Douglas_DC3/panel folder to the /gauges folder in your flight sim directory. If not, the panel gauges may not show up.

FS2004 add-on

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place files per readme

FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.
