American Overseas Boeing 377

American Overseas Airlines’ Boeing 377 Stratocruiser livery and flight-model update brings classic transatlantic propliner operations to FS2004 with refined B377.air and aircraft.cfg options, plus authentic handling tuned from real manual data. Requires the BOAC Stratocruiser package, with optional support for the Factory Colors NX1039V prototype files.

To use this aircraft you must have installed the BOAC Stratocruiser package (boacb377.zip) and optionally the Factory Colors B377 NX1039V files (b377-04.zip / B377.zip).

FS2004 (Century of Flight) notes: This file contains a new B377.AIR file and 2 new AIRCRAFT.CFG files that have been upgraded by Tom Gibson for use with FS2004. If you have only the BOAC aircraft installed then copy the B377.AIR and AIRCRAFT.CFG files into the BOACB377 folder. If you also have added the Boeing Factory color prototype NX1039V model then delete the AIRCRAFT.CFG herein and rename the FACTORYAIRCRAFT.CFG file to AIRCRAFT.CFG and copy it and the B377.AIR file into the BOACB377 folder. These new files have not been tested with FS2002 and should be used with caution if you are using FS2002. However the AOA B377 can be made to display in FS2002 by editing the exisiting aircraft.cfg file in the FS2002 BOACB377 folder and retaining the FS2002 b377.air file.

Flight dynamics by FSAviator (true FS2002 flight model with dynamics derived from actual flight manual information), correct within 3% of the real flying characteristics - see Reference file (F10). This FDE is not designed for AI use - it will not work.

How to install this mod

flight simulator aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Identify the target folder

    Different simulators use different folder structures. Check the readme to confirm where files should be placed.

  3. Copy files to the correct location

    Drag the extracted folder into the location the readme specifies. Most add-ons just need to be in the right folder.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
