Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

Experience a meticulously crafted repaint of the timeless Twin Beech airframe, specifically tailored for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. This download focuses on the “Savage Air” livery, applied to the freeware Beechcraft D18S by Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas, and Andre Folkers. It showcases a post-war twist while highlighting every classic trait of the original Beech Model 18. Although compact in size, this twin-engine taildragger once served numerous regional carriers and cargo operators, and now—through this repaint—it brings a unique look to your virtual fleet. Created by Damian Radice, these textures merge historical refinement with a fictional operator’s bold style. Note that this package includes textures only, which means you will need the base D18SVC4 model from the Fly Away Simulation library to enjoy the full experience.

Key Aspects of the Modified Airframe

The Beechcraft D18S saw extensive service in passenger and freight roles, partly due to its robust twin-engine configuration and streamlined fuselage. This version offers an updated cockpit environment (labeled “VC” in the model folder), and it remains comparable to real-world variants that received post-war upgrades. Even though this add-on looks and feels like a vintage aircraft, be prepared for a balanced performance profile that still captures the spirit of a true historic transport.

Visual Highlights in This Repaint

Damian Radice’s work reflects the fictional “Savage Air” color scheme—a concept that invokes an adventurous travel flair. High-contrast markings highlight the distinct lines of the fuselage, and the detailed rivet lines pay homage to the original craftsmanship of the D18S. You will notice that the vintage silhouette stands out even more under this livery’s dynamic accents.
