FS2004 Flying Tiger Line Curtiss C-46

Flying Tiger Line’s Curtiss C-46 Commando N67962 comes as a complete FS2004 package, capturing the airline’s 1950s cargo workhorse with period repainting and an updated aircraft configuration. It also includes a refined engine startup effect set plus matching textures to bring the virtual cockpit and exterior to life.

This is a repaint (and complete package) of J.R. Lucariny's Curtiss C-46 Commando. By Wayne Tudor and J.R. Lucariny.

This aircraft represents The Flying Tiger Line's N67962 as it appeared in service with Flying Tiger in the 1950s. FTL operated a large fleet of C-46s in cargo service.

IMPORTANT: If you have installed my previous version of the C-46 and textures, I suggest you back up your original C-46 and replace it with this version. You should also replace the original engine startup effects with this new effects file.

Copy the included Curtiss_C-46 folder to your FS9\Aircraft folder.

Transfer your other texture folders to this new Curtiss_C46 folder and edit the aircraft.cfg file to include any previous aircraft.

I have modified the engine startup effect for this particular aircraft.

Copy the contents of the Effects\Texture folder (2 files) to your FS9\Effects\Texture folder. You may already have these files so you can overwrite them.

Copy the one effect file in the Effects folder to your FS9\Effects folder. Overwrite the original.

The new aircraft.cfg file is required for this new startup effect.

FS2004 add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per readme

    FS2004 add-ons go into FS9\Aircraft\, FS9\Addon Scenery\, FS9\Gauges\, or FS9\Effects\.

  3. Always read the included readme
