FSX SAA DeHavilland Comet

SAA’s leased De Havilland Comet brings early jetliner history to life with an authentic South African Airways livery, a detailed external model, and a matching virtual cockpit and panel for classic airliner operations. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it captures the Comet’s pioneering look and feel for vintage route flying.

This De Havilland Comet aircraft was leased by SAA from BOAC. They were the first jet passenger aircraft in the world. A Comet flying to Johannesburg from London broke up near Naples. Subsequently all Comets were grounded and were withdrawn from Service. Model by Dee Waldron. Panel by Marco Spada. Textures by Peter Tredre.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

Scratch my last comment. I was going off screenshots. There is no virtual cockpit.

The cockpit is nowhere near authentic; being a glass cockpit.
