GlobalEnvTest and chrome environment replacement textures refresh the default reflection maps with photo-based detail, improving the look of aircraft metal, glass, and polished trim for more convincing lighting and shine in FSX. The package also includes the original files for quick restoration while keeping the simulator’s stock materials intact.

These are alternative textures for the default GlobalEnvTest.dds and GlobalEnv_AC_Chrome.dds. These are made using real pictures and will hopefully add a bit more realism to your flights. These textures are what you see reflecting off aircraft, glass, and chrome. Also includes a folder called Original Textures, just in case you don't backup your originals. By Bob Rivera.

Just place the textures in the folder named Texture into your FSX main Texture folder and overwrite. That's it.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
