FSX Mods For Carenado Cessna C340

Carenado’s Cessna 340A gains a more convincing approach and landing feel with updated aircraft configuration files for FSX. Tweaks reduce exaggerated ground effect, add flap drag, and refine handling so the twin carries power smoothly to touchdown, delivering a heavier, less floaty response without changing the aircraft’s character.

Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

A couple of minor tweaks to the two aircraft files to make the plane feel heavier and less floaty during approach and landing. By John Dow.

The ground effect has been lessened and the flaps drag increased, as well as other tweaks to allow a power on approach that can be flown down to the runway touchdown.

Recommend you back up the two files in your Carenado C340A folder before unzipping these two files in there and over-writing. If you forget and want to go back to the Carenado defaults, simply reinstall the aircraft.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
