FSX PBA Douglas DC-3

Provincetown-Boston Airways livery brings period commuter character to the default Douglas DC-3 in FSX, with clean PBA markings tailored to the classic airliner’s lines. The repaint refreshes exterior textures for a convincing vintage look while keeping the original flight model and cockpit, and requires the stock DC-3.

Textures for the default DC3. By George Hutton.

Thank you for downloading this Repaint for the FSX default DC-3 in the requested colors of PBA (Provincetown-Boston Airways). This is not a 100% accurate representation as only the upper fuselage has been done whereas the real aircraft was all white. Also, if you look closely, the tail logo on the port side is reversed due to there only being one fin and rudder on template provided by MS therefore the port side can't be reproduced properly.

  • Unzip to a temporary folder. Move the "Texture.pba" Folder to your Douglas_DC3 Folder.
  • Copy and paste the following into the existing aircraft.cfg for the Douglas_DC3 replacing 'X' with the next number in the sequence ( if you have no other textures other than the default, then this should be "6").

description="The Douglas DC-3 revolutionized air transportation and airline service during the 1930s and 1940s. It was a luxury airliner that boasted cabin heat and running water in its on-board lavatory. With the right balance of efficiency, range, speed, and payload, the DC-3 was the first aircraft to earn a profit for its owners just by carrying passengers. The hero of early airlines, a handful of DC-3s are still at work today."

Hope you enjoy.

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
