FSX KLM Douglas DC-6

KLM Douglas DC-6 repaints bring classic Dutch long-haul history to life with five period-accurate liveries spanning interim and late-career schemes, including distinctive white lettering, early-fifties cowlings, and updated house-style markings. Designed for FSX, the textures showcase multiple airframe stages and requires Jens B. Kristensens Douglas DC-6 base package.

Having been an operator of the earlier Douglas models, it seemed only logical that KLM purchased the DC6 for its long-haul routes. Seemed, because KLM already operated the Lockheed L-049 Constellation, the DC-6's competitor. Nevertheless, Connie and DC-6 marched on together quite well. Enclosed in this package are five repaints of DC-6's during several stages in their life with KLM. The 1957 livery of PH-DPP was an interim-livery (see the 'old fashioned' white lettering and the early-fifties style cowlings). The 1962 livery of PJ-DPI seems to have been an attempt to fit into the new house style of KLM without having to re-spray the fuselage, as the DC-6 reached the end of its KLM career anyway. These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensens FSX Douglas DC-6 (DC6_V20X.ZIP). Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme
