Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

Repaint of Project Open Sky Airbus A340-200 model. This is one of the most emblematic planes of the Argentinian company, and has been in service since 1999, one of the few A340-200 that were ever produced and are still flying. Includes a fully-functional VC, a sound pack, and plenty of wing views and other aircraft views. Textures and file compilation by Luke Powell.

This is a repaint of Marcel Allende's Airbus A340-200, updating the texture files, and correcting design mistakes of the old model.

The Airbus A340-200 LV-ZPO aircraft serves Aerolineas Argentinas since 1999, and covers some of the most important long haul flights the airline provides, among them, the Buenos Aires-Auckland, Auckland-Sydney AR1183 flight.

Installation:

  • Simply drop it into your Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Simobjects/Airplanes folder.
  • That's all!

It includes a fully functional VC, and all the amazing features Posky models have.

Textures saved as 32 bit formats, to ensure compatibility to plenty of simulators. It was tested in FSX, not in FS2004, though it may well work.

It's been repainted using high definition badges and signs, and looking carefully at pictures of the real aircraft, to ensure fidelity and realism.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
