Airbus A320-200 Update

Mike Stone’s Airbus A320-200 receives refreshed flight dynamics and a tuned Airbus A321 panel for FSX, delivering more dependable autopilot and flight director behavior during cruise and approach. The package uses working standby airspeed and altitude gauges for stable instrument readouts, focusing on smooth, believable handling in everyday airline operations.

This is an update, I believe my second, for FSX of Mike Stone's A320-200. I have updated the flight dynamics and updated the default Airbus 321 panel for it. The autopilot works properly so that the flight director shuts off as it should. No virtual cockpit. By Bob Chicilo.

Unzip to a folder of your choice. Copy the aircraft to the main FS airplanes folder.

I did have to change the two stand by gauges, air speed and altitude, to the B737-400 gauges or they would not work. I think they need something in the A321 model file to work.

There seems to be something wrong with the model file for the default A321 aircraft. I say this because if you turn on the autopilot while in the air; you then cannot shut the flight director off unless the autopilot is on. Shutting off the autopilot when the flight director is off, automatically turns the flight director back on. If you try to shut the flight director off after you shut the autopilot off, it stays on. This happens even when using the panel from the B737-800 in the A321. That is why I think it is a problem with the model file.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
