Technical Notes on the Livery

The textures have been refined using the standard Project Airbus A380 paint kit (PA380_PAINTKIT.ZIP). To ensure crisp visuals, the repaint is provided as 32-bit BMP files. The improved fidelity delivers detailed panel lines, accurate shading, and distinctive airline markings. Since these textures only enhance the aircraft’s exterior, the core flight model—along with animations such as drooping control surfaces, wing flex, detailed landing gear bogies, and custom XML-coded lighting—remains powered by the Project Airbus base.

Base Model Requirements

This repaint set incorporates no physical model and is compatible only with the Project Airbus A380 (PA380_HOUSE.ZIP). Without that base package, the aircraft will not be fully functional. You may locate the required download in the Fly Away Simulation mod library here. Make sure to have the entirety of the Project Airbus A380 installed before adding these textures.

Steps for Integrating These Repaint Textures

1. Extract all downloaded files to a temporary directory on your system.
2. Transfer the texture.Cathay Pacific folder into the A380-800 folder within your FSX installation path:
   • OS (C)/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes/A380-800
3. Open your aircraft.cfg file. It is recommended that you create a backup of this file ahead of making any modifications.
4. Paste the following block beneath the final existing [fltsim.x] entry, and change the “X” to the next sequential number.
