Scenery Lebanon TerrainX v1.0. Lebanon Terrain X improves the following landscape aspects of Lebanon in FSX: elevation, coastline, waterclass, region class / landclass and it features the major roads of Lebanon with moving traffic. This scenery package will be a must have for Lebor Simulations future IFR and VFR releases. By Lebor Simulations.
Lebanon TerrainX Scenery.
This scenery is for FSX (Microsoft Flight Simulator X) ONLY and is not compatible with previous versions of MSFS. So please do not try to install it for previous versions of MSFS,it will simply cause you trouble!
Before installing the scenery, be sure that FSX is not running.
The scenery is FREEWARE.
Scenery description:
Lebanon Terrain X v1.0 improves the different aspects of Lebanon terrain. The default Lebanon, that looks like a no man's land or an african desert, is now simulated in a much more convincing aspect... The scenery package is for VFR flying and the base for every future VFR or IFR scenery we will release (i.e: OLBAX, Beirut VFR etc...)
Although not perfect, this version is a beginning... Many improvements will come in future versions.
Note:
Due to technical issues that we are still solving, the only element that was not included in this first release is the "vector class" layer. Future versions of Lebanon Terrain X will hopefuly feature the "vector class" element that will place every city and village in Lebanon at the proper location and with the apropriate texture and autogen. On the other side, the landclass that is available in this package is a big improvement over the default FSX one. In other words the landclass you will enjoy in this version is a sort of "impressionist" not "hyper realistic" canvas of Lebanon.
Installing the scenery package:
- Be sure FSX is not running.
- Run the LebTerrainXV1_setup.exe and follow the installation wizard instructions.
- When the setup wizard is finished, run FSX.
- Go to the menu "Settings" and then "Scenery Library",click "Add Area" and the FSX folder will be displayed, double click the "Addon Scenery" folder and now (in the following order you must add the different scenery folders):
1) Click "Leb_SRTM" .Now click OK and OK again.FSX will now rebuild the scenery and a progress bar will be displayed.
2) Click "Leb_Water" .Now click OK and OK again.FSX will now rebuild the scenery and a progress bar will be displayed.
3) Click "Leb_LC".Now click OK and OK again.FSX will now rebuild the scenery and a progress bar will be displayed.
4) Click "Leb_Transp" .Now click OK and OK again.FSX will now rebuild the scenery and a progress bar will be displayed.
For those who use Windows 7 there is an uncompatibility issue when trying to add a new scenery to the library. Please go to Lebor Simulations group on facebook and look for the tip to go around this issue in the message board of the group...
Installing a temporary fix for the default FSX Lebabon airports:
Lebanon TerrainX will interfere with the default lebanese airports by making trees grow on the default OLBA apron etc. In order to have a temporary solution and until OLBAX is released, go to the following link and download the fix (please read the readme included in the fix zip file for instructions on how to install it)
Setting FSX to get the most of the scenery:
The scenery looks dense, sharp and pretty when FSX graphic settings/sliders are set to max values (and your PC is a young one). However, to be able to run FSX fairly well on your system and have the required amount of frame rate for flying, feel free to experiment with the graphic sliders and find a compromise between beauty and frame rate.
Scenery Package content:
Lebanon Terrains X package contains four scenery folders that will be placed in FSX "Addon Scenery" folder.
This package does not contain any custom Lebanese airport (i.e: OLBA). OLBAX as well as other airports will be released as seperate packages.
The scenery folders explained:
..............................
Leb_SRTM: improves the terrain elevation in Lebanon. The elevations are generated using NASA's SRTM 90m DEM data.
Leb_Water: contains the detailed and true to life coastline and improves the water aspect next to the coast.
Leb_LC: improves the land class/land use of lebanon as well as the regional aspect in the coastal areas and hills (in other words we populated the country and made it mediterranean...). Future versions will add the "vector class" element as described above.
Leb_Transp: Thanks to Open Street Map data, the major roads of Lebanon are now featured with moving traffic. Future versions will add more lebanese roads to the actual network.
Unistalling the scenery:
In windows, go to Start, Programs, in the program folder "Lebanon Terrain X V1.0" you will find the uninstaller. Simply execute it...
Enjoy the scenery!
