BC PNW Tofino. Welcome to Tofino, British Columbia, Canada. Included in this scenery enhancement: Tofino Harbour Water Aerodrome (CAB4), Tofino Lifeboat Station Heliport (CBR7), and Tofino (Hospital) Heliport (CBC8). Several custom objects were created for this project. This scenery was designed for Orbx's FTX NA Blue Pacific Northwest (PNW). By Mike Mann.
This village is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This update was designed for Orbx's FTX NA Blue Pacific Northwest (PNW). Although Orbx added the Tofino float plane base in a patch, they did not supply either of the two heliports. This scenery enhancement adds the two heliports and also provides a more true to life rendition of the Tofino waterfront. A number of custom objects were created exclusively for this scenery and placed as accurately as FSX and Orbx would allow.
This scenery will provide you with three bases. First, the Tofino Harbour Water Aerodrome (CAB4) which is located adjacent to the First Street Public Dock and is home to Tofino Air. Second, the Tofino Lifeboat Station Heliport (CBR7) which is only a very short distance east of the above mentioned First Street Public Dock. Third, the Tofino (Hospital) Heliport (CBC8) which is located a short distance south of the first two bases. The scenery also includes the Fourth Street Public Dock which is not a base but is a marina that I represented with a FSX default marina object.
I also recommend that you download my BC Coastal Beaver Repaints package from either FlightSim.com or AVSIM Library (the file is named bccoastalbeavers.zip at both sites). This will give you a number of repaints for the default FSX Beaver, including the one for Tofino Air. This will give you an authentic experience while flying the Tofino area.
This scenery enhancement was designed to be used with Orbx's FTX NA Blue Pacific Northwest (PNW). To install the scenery -
1.After unzipping the tofinobases.zip file, copy the BCPNWFloatBases folder into your Addon Scenery folder \\Program Files\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery.
** Note: if you have installed my Gold River scenery then this folder will already exist, so just add the additional files.
2.Copy the file CAB4_Tofino_Harbour_Float_ALT.BGL in the WorldScenery folder into your Scenery\World\Scenery folder \\Program Files\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery.
3. Add BCPNWFloatBases through your scenery FSX settings and make sure it is above all the Orbx PNW entries.
** Note: if you have installed my Gold River scenery then this folder will already be enabled.
4.This scenery was designed for a mesh resolution of 10 m. Set your FSX – Settings – Display – Scenery – Mesh resolution: 10.
