The Aerosoft A330neo is not available for MSFS 2020: Aerosoft models the A330-300ceo. See which freeware A330-900neo to use instead.
No. Aerosoft does not offer an A330neo for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Its Aerosoft Aircraft A330 is the older-generation A330-300ceo, fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines. For an actual neo in MSFS 2020, the usual freeware choice is the Headwind A330-900neo rather than an Aerosoft product.
Which Aerosoft A330 is available for MSFS 2020?
Aerosoft’s MSFS 2020 product models the long-fuselage A330-300 from the original A330 generation. It is not the A330-800neo or A330-900neo, even though shops, videos and repaints sometimes shorten the product name to simply “Aerosoft A330”.
The distinction affects the engines, wing details, external model and aircraft performance; it is not merely a different cabin or paint scheme. Our comparison of A330 variants available in MSFS explains where the -300 and -900neo fit, while our Aerosoft A330 buying assessment covers what to expect from the commercial -300 package.
Can a livery or mod turn the Aerosoft A330 into an A330neo?
No. A livery can reproduce an airline’s colours, but it cannot replace the Aerosoft model’s Trent 700 engines, wing geometry, flight model or systems with those of an A330neo.
A mistake we see regularly is treating an A330-900neo repaint as though it includes the aircraft. Liveries made for the Headwind A339X also cannot be installed on the Aerosoft A330: each add-on has its own aircraft definition, folder structure and texture mapping. If a downloaded neo does not appear in the aircraft selector, check whether it is only a livery and whether its required base aircraft is installed.
What should I use for an A330neo in MSFS 2020?
Use the freeware Headwind A330-900neo when the neo airframe and Trent 7000 engines are essential. It is a separate aircraft with different installation and update requirements, not an expansion for Aerosoft’s A330.
| Aircraft | Variant | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Aerosoft Aircraft A330 | A330-300, ceo generation | You want Aerosoft’s commercial implementation of the earlier A330-300 |
| Headwind A330-900neo | A330-900neo | You specifically want a freeware neo with the correct basic airframe and engine type |
For another downloadable option, see our native A330-900neo package for MSFS 2020 and read its installation requirements before adding liveries. Our Aerosoft-versus-Headwind A330 comparison covers the practical trade-offs between the commercial A330-300 and freeware A330-900neo.
