Is Aerosoft A320/A321 Professional better for everyday flying?

Do not confuse A320/A321 Professional with the older Airbus X or Airbus X Extended lines. They target different simulator generations, and an installer described only as “P3D compatible” may not support the major Prepar3D release you use.

What is the best free A320 for Prepar3D?

Read its documentation first because an “update” may rely on an existing base model rather than provide a complete aircraft.

Will an FSX A320 work in Prepar3D v4, v5 or v6?

An FSX A320 may work in Prepar3D, but compatibility is never automatic. Prepar3D v4 and later are 64-bit, while many older FSX aircraft depend on 32-bit compiled gauges or modules that cannot load. Models, textures and XML gauges are generally more portable, although they can still rely on incompatible components.

Support for Prepar3D v5 also does not prove v6 compatibility. Native modules, installers and effects may need changes for a later simulator generation even when the aircraft itself is 64-bit.

  1. Confirm the exact major version. Look for an explicit reference to your Prepar3D generation rather than a generic P3D label.
  2. Check whether it is complete. Updates, repaints and expansion aircraft may require a separately installed base A320.
  3. Inspect gauge requirements. For P3D v4 onward, any compiled DLL module must have a compatible 64-bit build.
  4. Keep packages matched. Mixing a panel from one release with another model, aircraft.cfg or .air file often breaks autopilot and flight-director behaviour.

Why does an installed A320 have blank displays or crash?

Blank PFD, ND or MCDU screens usually indicate an incompatible gauge, missing dependency or incorrectly copied panel. An invisible aircraft or missing cockpit more often points to an unsupported model or an update installed without its base package.

  • Blank displays: restore the original panel and verify that every gauge supports your P3D version.
  • Crash when selecting the aircraft: remove incompatible DLL modules and test the unmodified package again.
  • Autopilot oscillation or incorrect speeds: reinstall the matching panel, configuration and flight-model files rather than merging releases.
  • Missing textures or cockpit parts: confirm that all texture folders and the required base model are present.

Test a new A320 at a default airport in simple weather before adding liveries or panel modifications. That isolates aircraft compatibility from scenery, weather and other modules and makes the actual fault much easier to identify.
