FSX Concrete Runway Texture

Concrete runway textures gain a convincingly worn, high-traffic appearance with darker staining, subtle cracking, and improved surface variation that helps airports feel more alive on approach and rollout. Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, it replaces the default runway11.dds to refresh concrete runways while preserving seamless tiling and consistent lighting.

A split view compares two parallel runways labeled 25R, with differences in pavement texture and surrounding taxiway markings on each side.

Replaces the default concrete texture and gives it a more heavily used look. By Jeff Pierce.

Be sure to backup your original runway11.dds texture file incase you want to go back to it.

Copy the runway11.dds file to your C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture folder.

Not tested for SP2.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
Place files per the readme

Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
