Owners of a Ryzen 7 7800X3D should confirm a repeatable main-thread limit before moving to a 9800X3D-class processor. The newer CPU is faster, but the visible gain may be modest if headset resolution and graphics settings already keep the GPU fully occupied.

  • Already using a 7800X3D: keep it unless measured main-thread frame times are preventing your target VR refresh or reprojection mode.
