Will MSFS 2020 VIDP scenery work in MSFS 2024?
Sometimes, but MSFS 2020 compatibility alone does not prove that a Delhi package works correctly in MSFS 2024. The airport may load while still having broken jetways, misplaced vegetation, terrain seams, missing materials or outdated parking definitions.
Look for an explicit MSFS 2024 compatibility statement. On PC, test the package without other VIDP scenery enabled; on Xbox or PlayStation, manually downloaded Community packages cannot be installed, so the airport must be offered through the simulator's supported content system.
How do I install and troubleshoot Delhi scenery?
Most broken VIDP installations come from a version mismatch, nested folders or two packages editing the airport at once.
- Confirm the simulator and platform. Check for MSFS 2020 or MSFS 2024 support before downloading. Do not infer compatibility from screenshots or the VIDP code alone.
- Remove the previous version. Delete or disable the old package before installing an update rather than merging the two folders.
- Check the package level. For a manually installed PC package, files such as
manifest.jsonandlayout.jsonshould normally be inside the add-on's top package folder, not buried under an extra identically named directory. - Disable other VIDP edits. Keep only one complete Delhi airport package active. A separate landmarks package may also conflict if it places buildings inside the airport boundary.
- Restart and test cleanly. Load a default aircraft at a Terminal 3 stand, inspect all runway ends, request a jetway and make a short taxi before restoring traffic or other scenery.
- Duplicate terminals or runways: another package is editing VIDP, or the add-on is failing to exclude default objects. Disable packages one at a time and restart the simulator.
- Pink or chequered surfaces: textures or a required library are missing. Re-extract the complete download and install every dependency named by its documentation.
