Where is Content Manager in MSFS 2024?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Find Content Manager in MSFS 2024, manage installed packages through My Library, and fix missing content or unavailable controls.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 does not have the standalone Content Manager used by MSFS 2020. From the main menu, open Marketplace, choose My Library, then open its content-management or installed-content controls. This is where you find owned packages and download, enable, disable or remove them when each action is supported.

How do I open content management in MSFS 2024?

  1. Return to the main menu. The complete library interface is not available while you are flying.
  2. Open Marketplace. Select My Library; some menu layouts may also provide a direct My Library shortcut.
  3. Open the management view. Use the content-management or installed-content control within My Library. The exact icon and wording can change with interface updates.
  4. Filter the library. Choose owned, installed or downloaded content as appropriate, then search for the aircraft, airport, scenery package or other product.
  5. Select the package. The available actions may include downloading, updating, enabling, disabling or deleting local files.

My Library is both an ownership list and the route into package management. Simply opening the library does not always display every management button; select the product or switch to its installed-content view first.

Why is Content Manager no longer under Profile?

MSFS 2024 replaced the MSFS 2020 Content Manager workflow with My Library and separate content-management controls, reflecting the newer simulator's heavier use of streamed assets.

A missing download or delete button does not necessarily indicate a fault. Mandatory simulator files cannot be removed individually, and streamed packages may not expose the same controls as locally installed content. Our explanation of managing local downloads instead of streamed content covers that distinction.

Why can’t I find a package in My Library?

Missing packages are usually hidden by a filter, attached to a different account or unavailable as an MSFS 2024-compatible product.

  • Clear the search and filters: switch from Installed to Owned or All content.
  • Check the signed-in account: use the account and platform entitlement associated with the purchase. Licences do not necessarily transfer between storefront ecosystems.
  • Restore online access: My Library needs access to Microsoft Flight Simulator's online services to retrieve ownership data.
  • Check compatibility: an MSFS 2020 product may not appear as usable in MSFS 2024 until a compatible package is supplied.
  • Expand the main product: some purchases contain several aircraft, liveries or scenery components grouped beneath one library entry.

If an owned product remains absent, follow our checks for missing Marketplace purchases before reinstalling the simulator. Reinstallation is rarely the right first step because it does not correct an account or entitlement mismatch.

Where are World Updates managed?

World and scenery packages are handled through MSFS 2024's library and content-management system rather than the old Profile-based Content Manager. Package availability can differ because some scenery is streamed while other components can be stored locally; our World Update and scenery update instructions explain the correct workflow for both MSFS 2024 and 2020.

Can My Library remove Community add-ons?

Do not rely on My Library to remove every manually installed add-on. Content copied into the Community folder is normally managed at file level: close the simulator, move or delete that add-on's folder, then restart MSFS 2024.

A mistake we see constantly is deleting files from the official package directories while trying to remove a freeware add-on. Restrict manual changes to the package you placed in Community; use My Library for official and Marketplace-managed content.
