Sideloading is not the missing step. Renaming a desktop installer or archive with an .apk extension will not convert it into an Android application. Why do Linux FlightGear builds not work on Android?

Remote streaming lets an Android device display and control FlightGear while a computer performs the simulation and rendering. A stable local connection helps, but cockpit interaction and control mapping can still be awkward on a touchscreen. The simulator is not actually installed on Android in this arrangement.
Linux containers and emulation
A Linux userspace, desktop display layer and compatible or source-built FlightGear installation can sometimes be assembled on Android, but this is not a supported installation route. Common failures include missing graphics acceleration, incompatible processor builds, absent shared libraries, thermal throttling and Android terminating the process for memory use.
