To download, install or update GSX Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024, use the latest FSDT Universal Installer linked to your legitimate purchase. Close MSFS and Couatl, select the correct simulator, install or update, activate with the GSX Pro licence key, and verify its Community-folder links before launching MSFS.
Where can I download GSX Pro?
The genuine GSX Pro download and installer are supplied through the account or order associated with the purchase. GSX Pro is a commercial add-on: a purported free download, crack or GSX Pro torrent is not a legitimate distribution and may lack the licence, Couatl engine or managed packages needed for it to work.
GSX Pro requires a Windows PC because Couatl runs outside the simulator. It cannot be installed on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 or PS5 Pro, and it is not installed through the MSFS Content Manager.
How do I install and activate GSX Pro?
Use the FSDT Universal Installer rather than copying GSX files into the Community folder yourself.
- Prepare the simulator. If MSFS was just installed or moved, launch the relevant edition once so it creates its package configuration. Close MSFS completely, then quit Couatl from the Windows notification area or Task Manager.
- Run the latest installer. Extract it first if it arrived as an archive, approve the normal Windows permission prompt and let it maintain its own Addon Manager location.

- Confirm the package location. Custom paths and abandoned installations can confuse detection. The active location appears as
InstalledPackagesPathnear the end of that simulator'sUserCfg.optfile. - Register the licence. Use the installer's Register or Activate control and enter the GSX Pro product key exactly as supplied. An order or transaction number is not the licence key; control names can vary between installer builds.
- Install the managed packages. Allow the installer to add GSX Pro, Couatl and the required Community links, including supporting packages such as World of Jetways where applicable. Do not interrupt the download or move the linked folders afterwards.
- Check for updates. Run the product's update, check or repair control after installation to catch any component missed by an interrupted or blocked download.
- Configure and test. Exclude third-party airports whose scenery supplies custom jetways, then load a supported aircraft at a gate. Wait for Couatl to initialise, open GSX from the toolbar and request one ground service.
Does GSX Pro go in the Community folder?
GSX Pro is a managed installation whose main files normally remain in the Addon Manager location; the installer creates links inside the active Community folder. Moving those links, copying them between MSFS 2020 and 2024, or deleting the external files breaks the relationship even when the folders appear to contain the add-on.
Use the installer's repair or relink function after moving a package location. When both simulators are installed, configure each target separately rather than assuming one set of links serves both.
How do I update GSX Pro safely?
Close Microsoft Flight Simulator and Couatl before running the GSX update check.
- Stop all related processes. Use Task Manager if Couatl remains after its notification-area icon disappears.
- Open the Universal Installer. Let the installer update itself if prompted.
- Choose the simulator target. Verify that its detected Community folder belongs to the MSFS edition you intend to update.
- Run the update or check control. Wait for every download and file check to finish; the exact label can vary.
- Repeat for the other simulator. Updating MSFS 2020 does not guarantee that the MSFS 2024 links were checked or repaired.
Do not uninstall GSX before routine updates. Use repair or relink when files are missing, the Community folder has moved or a simulator change has invalidated the links. Aircraft and airport profiles are separate, so follow the correct GSX profile locations and loading checks when only one aircraft or airport is affected.
How do I know GSX Pro is activated correctly?
Activation is working when the installer shows GSX Pro as registered, Couatl starts, and the toolbar panel opens without a licence warning. At a suitable stand, it should offer the services supported by that aircraft and parking position.
Incorrect doors, vehicle routes or stand coordinates usually indicate a profile problem rather than failed activation. SimBrief import is also configured separately; an import failure does not by itself mean the GSX licence is inactive.
Why is GSX Pro installed but not showing?
A missing toolbar icon usually points to the wrong Community location or broken links, while a panel stuck loading more often means Couatl is stopped or blocked.

Restore a quarantined component only after confirming it came from the legitimate installer, and create the narrowest necessary security exception rather than disabling protection. Remove only duplicate folders copied manually; retain the installer-managed links. Other Community add-ons can be removed temporarily when testing for a conflict.

Can I move GSX Pro to a new PC?
