Does GSX Pro work with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024?

In short

GSX Pro works with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC. Learn the requirements, profile caveats, console limits and common fixes.

Yes. GSX Pro works with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Windows PC when installed through the FSDT Universal Installer. It is not available on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5. Aircraft and airport support can vary, so updated GSX files and suitable profiles may still be required.

Which MSFS 2024 platforms support GSX Pro?

GSX Pro is a PC-only add-on because it depends on external software, including the Couatl background process, as well as packages linked to the simulator’s Community folder.

PlatformGSX Pro supportReason
Windows PCYesSupports the installer, external processes and Community packages GSX requires.
Xbox Series X|SNoConsole software cannot run GSX’s external components.
PlayStation 5 and PS5 ProNoThe console version does not support the required external application and package installation.

Cloud streaming an Xbox version to a PC does not change this restriction. You must be running the Windows PC edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

How do you install GSX Pro in MSFS 2024?

Install GSX Pro through the latest FSDT Universal Installer rather than copying files from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

  1. Update the installer: allow the FSDT Universal Installer to update itself before changing the GSX installation.
  2. Select MSFS 2024: confirm that the installer has detected the correct simulator installation and active Community folder.
  3. Install or update GSX Pro: let the installer create and maintain the required package links.
  4. Start the simulator: load at a parking stand, allow GSX to finish reading airport data and check for its panel in the in-sim toolbar.

Our GSX Pro installation and update instructions cover the process in more detail. Once the panel appears, follow our guide to operating GSX ground services for boarding, catering, pushback and stand selection.

A mistake we see constantly is manually moving the visible GSX package between Community folders. That package is only part of the installation; copying it does not correctly configure the external components or symbolic links.

Do all MSFS 2024 aircraft and airports work with GSX?

GSX can provide basic services at many aircraft and airports, but accurate doors, vehicles, stop positions and pushback routes depend on the aircraft model, scenery data and profiles being used.

  • Aircraft profiles define details such as door positions, cargo doors and service-vehicle placement. A profile made for an MSFS 2020 aircraft may not suit a separate MSFS 2024-native version of that aircraft.
  • Airport profiles refine stand positions, marshaller locations, pushback routes and ground handlers. They are especially useful where scenery parking data does not match the visible gate markings.
  • Scenery updates can alter parking records or stand layouts, leaving an older profile misaligned even though GSX itself still works.

Use a profile only when it matches the exact aircraft variant or airport scenery release. Our explanation of installing and choosing GSX profiles shows what each profile changes and where compatibility mistakes occur.

Why does GSX Pro appear not to work in MSFS 2024?

If GSX is missing everywhere, suspect the installation or Couatl process; if it fails only with one aircraft or airport, suspect that aircraft, scenery or its profile.

  • No GSX toolbar panel: check that the installer linked GSX to MSFS 2024’s active Community folder, not the MSFS 2020 folder or an unused custom location.
  • Couatl does not start: update GSX, check whether security software blocked its background process and restart both GSX and the simulator.
  • Vehicles or marshallers are misplaced: remove an incompatible profile or install one made for that exact scenery.
  • Duplicate vehicles or conflicting pushback: avoid running another ground-service or pushback system for the same operation.
  • Problems after an update: update GSX and allow its airport data to rebuild before changing profiles or reinstalling the simulator.

Reinstalling Microsoft Flight Simulator should be the last step, not the first. For missing panels, broken links and Couatl failures, use our focused GSX Pro troubleshooting checks.
