Junkers F 13 add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator are scarce. Check the real PC, console, livery and MSFS 2024 compatibility options.
Junkers F 13 add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator are scarce. Neither MSFS 2020 nor MSFS 2024 includes the F 13 as a standard aircraft. PC users therefore need a complete third-party aircraft package; liveries alone are not flyable. Console users can install one only when a full aircraft is offered through the in-sim Marketplace.
Which Junkers F 13 add-on types are usable?
The practical choice is a community-built F 13 aircraft package for PC, provided it was made for modern Microsoft Flight Simulator. Dedicated releases are uncommon, and their availability and support can change, so check our MSFS aircraft and mods library for packages we can distribute.
| Add-on type | Where it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Complete MSFS aircraft | PC; consoles only through the Marketplace | The listing must identify it as a flyable aircraft, not a repaint. |
| F 13 livery or repaint | Only with its specified base aircraft | Confirm the developer, model and variant match exactly. |
| MSFS 2020 community package | MSFS 2020 on PC; potentially MSFS 2024 on PC | Do not assume MSFS 2024 compatibility unless the developer documents it. |
| FSX or Prepar3D F 13 | Not directly usable in MSFS | Legacy models cannot simply be copied into the MSFS Community folder. |
Search catalogues under Junkers F 13, Junkers F13 and F-13. A common mistake is downloading a small livery archive and expecting a complete aeroplane; the description should explicitly mention an included exterior model, cockpit and flight model.
Is the Junkers F 13 the same as the Ju 52?
No. The single-engine Junkers F 13 first flew in 1919, whereas the much larger, three-engine Ju 52 is a separate aircraft. A Ju 52 package, repaint or compatibility patch will not provide or modify an F 13.
The F 13 also predates the Second World War, despite often being grouped with later corrugated-metal Junkers designs. If historical flying matters more than the exact model, you can compare other historic and WWII aircraft represented in MSFS.
Will an MSFS 2020 F 13 work in MSFS 2024?
Some MSFS 2020 community aircraft work in MSFS 2024, but compatibility is not automatic. Custom instruments, sounds, animations, flight-model configuration and external dependencies are the usual failure points.
- Choose a package that explicitly names your simulator generation.
- Check whether a separate base aircraft or shared library is required.
- Avoid unsupported FSX conversions presented as modern MSFS aircraft.
- Keep only one copy of the aircraft installed; duplicate package versions can produce missing textures or duplicate selection entries.
How do I install a community F 13 on PC?
A complete PC package normally belongs in the simulator's Community folder. Our Community-folder aircraft installation instructions cover the different Microsoft Store, Steam and custom installation locations.
- Extract the archive rather than placing the compressed file in the simulator.
- Check the folder depth. The aircraft package's
manifest.jsonandlayout.jsonfiles should not be buried beneath an unnecessary extra folder. - Copy the complete package into
Community, including any documented dependency. - Restart the simulator and search the aircraft selector under Junkers, F 13 and F13.
If the aircraft does not appear, incorrect folder nesting is the first thing to inspect. If it appears with a blank cockpit or missing textures, suspect an absent dependency, an incompatible simulator version or a livery installed without its required base model.
Can I install a Junkers F 13 on Xbox or PlayStation 5?
Only a Marketplace edition can be installed on a console. Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5 version of MSFS 2024 do not allow PC Community-folder packages, so a freeware download or manually installed repaint cannot be transferred to either platform.
Marketplace catalogues can differ by simulator and platform. Confirm that the product page identifies a full aircraft, supports your console and is licensed for the edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator you use before buying it.
