Find the ERJ-145 add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator, why free FSX packages will not work, and what to check for MSFS 2024 or consoles.
For Microsoft Flight Simulator, the main purpose-built ERJ-145 add-on is Virtualcol’s commercial Embraer 135/145 Series. Our freeware ERJ-145 downloads are older FSX or FS2004 packages, not MSFS aircraft. E-Jet add-ons covering the E170–E195 family are different aeroplanes and do not include the ERJ-145.
Which ERJ-145 add-on works in Microsoft Flight Simulator?
Virtualcol’s Embraer 135/145 Series is the principal package made specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Before buying, check the listing for the exact simulator edition, supported platform and included variants; an older listing labelled simply “MSFS” may refer to MSFS 2020 rather than guaranteed MSFS 2024 support.

Choose the commercial MSFS package when the aircraft type itself is the priority. Check its stated avionics and systems features before purchase, however: being compatible with MSFS does not by itself establish the depth of the FMS, autopilot or failure simulation.
Is there a free ERJ-145 for MSFS?
We do not have a confirmed native freeware ERJ-145 for modern Microsoft Flight Simulator in our downloads library. The free ERJ-145 files in our catalogue target earlier simulators, even when “Flight Simulator” appears prominently in their descriptions.
For example, our complete Pan American ERJ-145 package is for FSX. The United Express ERJ-145LR package targets FSX and FS2004. Neither can be placed in the MSFS Community folder and used as a modern aircraft.
Some downloads are only liveries. Our HOP! ERJ-145 repaint for FSX, for instance, requires the separate Project Open Sky base model. Installing that texture set alone will not create a selectable aircraft.
Why won’t an FSX ERJ-145 appear in MSFS?
An FSX ERJ-145 will not work in Microsoft Flight Simulator merely by copying its folder. Legacy models, gauges, cockpit code and effects use formats that modern MSFS does not interpret as a complete Community package.
- Aircraft missing from the selection screen: confirm the download explicitly supports your MSFS edition and contains
manifest.jsonandlayout.jsonat the package level. - Livery missing or showing pink textures: install the exact base aircraft and version required by the repaint.
- Package installed one folder too deep: the folder directly inside
Communityshould contain the package files, not another identically named folder. - Cockpit controls or displays fail: remove duplicate or outdated copies and test the base aircraft without liveries. If it is an FSX conversion, copying files again will not solve the underlying incompatibility.

Will an ERJ-145 add-on work in MSFS 2024 or on consoles?
MSFS 2020 compatibility does not automatically guarantee full MSFS 2024 compatibility. Confirm that the developer or in-simulator Marketplace explicitly lists the edition you use, particularly if avionics, cockpit interaction or external utilities are involved.
On PC, compatible third-party packages can use the Community folder. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 users can install only add-ons offered for their platform through the in-simulator Marketplace; a PC download cannot be copied to either console. If the ERJ-145 does not appear in that console’s Marketplace with compatible-platform labelling, treat it as unavailable there.
Are Embraer E-Jet add-ons the same as the ERJ-145?
No. The ERJ-135, ERJ-140 and ERJ-145 belong to the earlier regional-jet family, while the E170, E175, E190 and E195 are larger E-Jets with different airframes and cockpits. An E175 or E190 package may suit similar regional-airline routes, but it is not an ERJ-145 variant or substitute livery.
