How does Miltech Mission Hub work in MSFS 2024?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Learn how Miltech Mission Hub works in MSFS 2024, how to start its missions, and how to fix missing activities or stuck objectives.

Miltech Mission Hub is a third-party add-on that organises and launches authored, objective-based activities in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Install the MSFS 2024 package, open the hub entry it adds to the simulator, select a mission and compatible aircraft, then follow the briefing, route and on-screen objectives in order.

What does Miltech Mission Hub add?

Miltech Mission Hub adds structured scenarios with briefings, objectives, trigger zones and defined completion conditions. It gives a flight a specific purpose rather than replacing the aircraft, scenery or core simulator.

The available catalogue depends on the installed release and any additional content you own. A mission may provide or prescribe an aircraft, allow a suitable substitute, or require a separate Miltech aircraft or scenery package. Installing the hub does not automatically unlock every dependency.

These activities also sit apart from the simulator's broader selection of career jobs and challenges. Our guide to the different mission types available in MSFS 2024 explains where structured third-party activities fit.

How do I install and start a Mission Hub activity?

  1. Install the MSFS 2024 package. Confirm that Mission Hub and every dependency named in its description are installed and enabled in the simulator's content library. Restart the simulator after a first installation or major update.
  2. Find the Miltech entry. Open the simulator's activities or custom-content area and look for the Mission Hub tile or Miltech category added by the package. Menu labels can move between simulator updates, but it should not normally be treated as a random contract on the Career world map.
  3. Read the complete briefing. Check the required aircraft, departure state, payload, route and completion condition before loading. Some scenarios expect a cold-and-dark start; others place the aircraft on a runway or already in flight.
  4. Use the specified aircraft. If aircraft selection is locked, do not attempt to substitute another model. Where selection is available, choose an aircraft suited to the mission's runway, range, payload and role.
  5. Check the loaded route. Mission instructions and the avionics flight plan are not always the same thing. Before departure, verify the route, fuel and payload by checking them in the MSFS 2024 EFB, but do not overwrite a mission-supplied route without a reason.
  6. Complete objectives in sequence. Follow the objective tracker and pass through any marked trigger areas. Slew mode, teleporting, skipping ahead or handing control to the AI pilot can bypass a trigger and leave the mission stuck.
  7. Wait for confirmed completion. Perform the stated final action, which may include entering a parking area, applying the parking brake or shutting down. Do not return to the main menu until the activity displays its completion result.

Is Mission Hub the same as MSFS 2024 Career Mode?

No. Miltech Mission Hub is third-party activity content, while Career Mode manages certifications, companies, reputation and generated contracts.

Unless a mission explicitly states otherwise, completing it should not be expected to award Career credits, reputation or certification progress. This distinction also explains why Mission Hub content may appear under activities or custom content rather than among Career jobs.

Do I need a Miltech aircraft?

Only when the selected mission lists one as a requirement. Mission Hub scenarios generally fall into one of three practical categories:

  • Fixed-aircraft missions, where the activity loads a particular included or required aircraft.
  • Selectable-aircraft missions, where the player may choose any model meeting the scenario's practical needs.
  • Dependency-based missions, which need a separately installed aircraft, ship, scenery package or other object library.

Do not assume that aircraft substitution is harmless. A different model can place the cockpit in the wrong position, exceed a trigger's speed or altitude assumptions, or make a landing zone physically unusable.

Why is Mission Hub missing or an objective stuck?

Most Mission Hub problems come from an incomplete installation, a missing dependency or a trigger being crossed in the wrong order.

ProblemLikely causeWhat to do
No Mission Hub entryThe package is disabled, incomplete or intended for a different simulator versionVerify the MSFS 2024 package in the content library, install its dependencies and restart the simulator.
Mission will not loadA required aircraft or scenery package is absent or outdatedRecheck the mission requirements and update all associated packages.
Objective will not advanceA trigger was skipped, approached from the wrong direction or bypassed with slew or AI controlReturn through the preceding waypoint or restart the activity and complete the objectives in order.
Route is absent from the avionicsThe activity's objective route was not inserted as an aircraft flight planCompare the briefing and EFB, then use our flight-planner and avionics verification steps.
Mission never reports completionThe final parking, brake or shutdown condition has not triggeredStop inside the marked area and perform the exact final actions stated in the briefing.

If a mission behaves correctly with an unmodified aircraft but fails after enabling cockpit, avionics or scenery modifications, test again without those modifications. A conflicting add-on can alter aircraft identity, starting state or objects used by the activity.

Can Mission Hub open other downloaded missions?

No. Mission Hub is not a universal importer for every mission, saved flight or flight plan. Content must be authored and packaged for the system and simulator version it targets.

Older FSX missions, MSFS 2020 activities and ordinary flight-plan files are not automatically interchangeable with MSFS 2024 Mission Hub content. Our explanation of mission download formats and compatibility covers the distinctions to check before installing additional activities.
