Compare Pilatus PC-6 add-ons for MSFS 2020 and 2024: built-in Porter, third-party aircraft, liveries, platform limits and FSX compatibility.
Microsoft Flight Simulator includes a native Pilatus PC-6 Porter, so most users do not need a separate aircraft add-on. The main extras are a systems-focused third-party PC-6, liveries and aircraft-specific improvement packages. Availability differs between MSFS 2020 and 2024, while legacy FSX PC-6 files are incompatible.
What Pilatus PC-6 options are available?
The practical PC-6 catalogue consists of the official aircraft, one established third-party rendition and model-specific repaint or enhancement packages.

Which PC-6 should you choose?
Use the official PC-6 first unless you specifically want the Blackbird/MilViz interpretation of the cockpit, systems and handling. The commercial aircraft is a separate product, not an upgrade that replaces or patches the official model.
Liveries are also model-specific. A repaint labelled for the official or Asobo PC-6 will not necessarily work on the Blackbird aircraft, and the reverse is equally true; their texture layouts, folder names and dependency identifiers differ. Avoid stacking multiple sound or flight-model modifications because they may overwrite the same files or configuration entries.
Does the PC-6 work in MSFS 2024 and on consoles?
The official PC-6 is available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, but compatibility for an MSFS 2020 third-party package must be confirmed by that package's listing or developer. Loading successfully in compatibility mode does not prove that its avionics, flight model and cockpit interactions work correctly.
On PC, compatible packages may use an installer or the Community folder. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 or PS5 Pro users can only install add-ons distributed for their platform through the in-simulator Marketplace; PC freeware cannot be sideloaded onto a console. MSFS 2020 remains limited to PC and Xbox, while PlayStation receives MSFS 2024 only.
Can FSX Pilatus PC-6 downloads be installed in MSFS?
No, an FSX Pilatus PC-6 cannot be copied into the MSFS Community folder and used as a native aircraft. Our library contains a legacy PC-6C-H2 aircraft package for FSX and a companion FSX repaint pack, but both target the older simulator.
The repaint pack also depends on its intended FSX base model; it is not a complete aircraft. Renaming folders or copying the old model, gauge and configuration files will not convert them. Why does a PC-6 livery or mod not appear?
A missing PC-6 add-on is usually caused by the wrong base-aircraft dependency, an extra folder level or an unsupported simulator version.
- Check the required aircraft: confirm whether the package names the official PC-6 or the Blackbird/MilViz model. Owning one does not satisfy a dependency on the other.
- Inspect the extracted folder on PC: a manually installed package should place
manifest.jsonat a structure such asCommunity\package-name\manifest.json, not inside another duplicate package folder. - Confirm version and platform support: do not assume that an MSFS 2020 package supports MSFS 2024, Xbox or PlayStation. Console packages must come from the Marketplace.
- Test without overlapping modifications: temporarily remove old PC-6 sound, systems or flight-model packages, then restart the simulator. Add them back individually to identify the conflict.
- Verify the official aircraft content: update the simulator and check that the PC-6 is available through its content or aircraft library. Do not move Marketplace-managed files manually.
