Why can’t FSX run on Xbox?
FSX was built as Windows software, not as an Xbox console title. Its executable, installer and supporting components require a Windows PC, so neither the original boxed discs nor the Steam download will run on Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.

Can an FSX disc or Steam purchase transfer to Xbox?
An FSX disc or Steam licence cannot be converted into an Xbox version. The boxed installer is PC software, while a Steam purchase authorises the Windows edition; neither provides an Xbox entitlement or console download.
Putting an FSX disc into a disc-equipped Xbox will not install it. There is also no official Xbox edition, compatibility mode or upgrade that converts FSX into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024.
Will FSX aircraft and scenery work on Xbox?
FSX aircraft, scenery and utilities cannot be copied directly to an Xbox. The console versions of newer Microsoft Flight Simulator releases use console-compatible content distributed through the in-sim Marketplace rather than manually installed FSX folders and executables.
