Where can I get a printable MSFS 2020 shortcut list?

In short

Download a printable Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 keyboard shortcut list in PDF, JPG or Word, with printing and custom-binding tips.

You can download a printable Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 keyboard shortcut list from our MSFS controls pack. It includes a single-page PDF, a JPG image and an editable Word document. Use the PDF for reliable printing, the JPG on a second display, or the document to mark your customised bindings.

Where can I download the printable shortcut list?

The files are available in our printable MSFS keyboard controls pack.

  1. Open the download page and save the keyboard-command package.
  2. Extract the files if your browser saves them in a compressed archive.
  3. Choose your format: PDF for printing, JPG for another screen, or the Word document for editing.
  4. Print with scaling enabled. Use “fit to printable area” if any content falls outside your printer's margins.
FormatBest useCommon issue
PDFConsistent single-page printingText may be small on A4 or Letter paper
JPGTablet, phone or second monitorA screenshot or resaved copy can look blurred
Word documentAdding notes and changed bindingsPrinter and font settings may alter pagination

If the single-page version is too small, print it on A3 paper or use your printer's poster or tiling option to spread it across several sheets. For a quick check without downloading anything, use our web-based reference for the main default MSFS 2020 shortcuts.

Will the printable list match my MSFS 2020 controls?

The sheet matches the default Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 keyboard assignments, but the active in-simulator profile is always authoritative. Any remapped, cleared or duplicated binding can make the printed reference differ from your setup.

  1. Open Options and then Controls Options.
  2. Select the Keyboard device rather than a joystick, yoke or controller.
  3. Check which control profile is active.
  4. Search for a command by its name or press the relevant key using the input-search function.
  5. Write any differences on the printed sheet or add them to the editable document.

Do not delete a custom profile merely to make it match the list. Keep your preferred profile and treat the sheet as a cockpit reference, marking the commands you have changed.

Why does a printed keyboard shortcut not work?

A printed shortcut usually fails because the active profile, keyboard hardware or modifier state differs from the default assumed by the list.

  • Custom profile: The command may have been reassigned or left unbound.
  • Binding conflict: One keystroke may control more than one function, sometimes producing an unexpected action.
  • Missing numeric keypad: Compact and laptop keyboards may lack keys used by several default commands.
  • Num Lock state: Numeric-keypad shortcuts can behave differently when Num Lock is changed.
  • Keyboard layout: Punctuation and symbol keys may not correspond exactly on non-US layouts.
  • Modifier timing: Commands using Ctrl, Shift or Alt require the modifier and main key to be pressed as a combination.

Can I keep the shortcut list on screen while flying?

MSFS 2020's Controls Options screen can display and search assignments, but it is not a persistent, comprehensive shortcut card over the cockpit. Our explanation of what the built-in keyboard display can and cannot show covers the available alternatives.

For uninterrupted flying, place the JPG on a second monitor or tablet. A printed PDF is usually better in VR because it remains available without opening another simulator panel, although you will need to lift the headset to read it.
