That means it works with caveats; it does not promise flawless performance across every route, timetable or DLC pack.
Train Sim World 7 on Steam Deck: is it Verified?
No. On 22 October 2026, Valve classifies Train Sim World 7 as Playable on Steam Deck rather than Verified.
Playable means Valve found the game functional on Deck, but one or more parts of the experience may require manual configuration, touchscreen or virtual-keyboard input, or another compromise identified in Valve’s report. Select the Deck compatibility badge on the official Steam entry or TSW7’s Library page to open Valve’s live compatibility details.
The badge applies to the tested application, not every possible workload. It does not certify a locked frame rate on all routes, test every locomotive add-on, guarantee readable third-party content or promise that suspend and resume will always recover correctly. Both the rating and real-world performance can change after a Train Sim World, SteamOS or Proton update, so recheck the report if behaviour changes.
4628710 is the relevant Steam application ID for the Train Sim World 7 base game. It is not a Proton version or a universal ID for its DLC; individual add-ons have separate records.

A quiet rural service can perform well while a short run through a large terminus struggles because more trains, passengers, signals and timetable logic are active. When a drop is caused by simulation load rather than graphics load, reducing resolution alone may make little difference.
Storage requirements also grow quickly. The base-game figure shown by Steam does not represent a library containing several routes and locomotive packs, and large updates may need temporary working space. Check each selected DLC, keep spare capacity rather than filling the drive completely, and use Steam’s Storage page to see the actual installed total. A good microSD card is usable, but internal storage is the better troubleshooting baseline when route loading or asset streaming is inconsistent.
Docking the Deck does not give it more CPU or GPU performance. For an external television or monitor, 1280×720 is usually the practical game resolution even if the display itself runs at 1080p or 4K; let the display upscale the image. Native high-resolution rendering removes much of the performance margin needed for busy routes.
Will all Train Sim World 7 DLC work on Steam Deck?
DLC can work on Deck when it is licensed to the Steam account, supported by Train Sim World 7 and fully installed, but the base game’s Playable badge is not a separate performance guarantee for every add-on.

- Open Properties > DLC and confirm that the item appears and is ticked.
- Check the Downloads page for a paused or incomplete installation.
- Verify that the add-on supports TSW7 and that any required host route is installed.
- Restart Steam after the download completes, then relaunch the game.
If the DLC is absent from the Properties list, repeatedly verifying or reinstalling the base game will not create the missing entitlement. Check that it was acquired on the same Steam account and for the correct Train Sim World generation.
How do you fix controls that stop responding?
Reset Steam Input first, then deal with individual keyboard-only cab functions.
