Which FS2004 shortcut mutes each navigation beacon?
FS2004’s default identifier-audio shortcuts are toggles, so pressing the same combination again restores the sound.

Start with the receiver feeding your active navigation instrument. For example, if the course deviation indicator is using NAV1, try Ctrl+1 first. Muting the identifier does not stop the CDI, glideslope or autopilot from using that receiver.
How do I silence it from the cockpit audio panel?
Deselect NAV1, NAV2, DME or ADF on the aircraft’s audio selector panel. The labels and switch design vary between default and add-on aircraft, but the principle is the same: disable audio monitoring rather than detuning the station.
Detuning is a mistake we see regularly. It removes the navigation signal as well as the sound, which can make the CDI flag appear, interrupt localiser tracking or cause the autopilot to lose its selected navigation source.
Why is the Morse code still playing?
Continued beeping usually means a second receiver or a different type of navigation aid is also selected.
- Both NAV receivers are monitored: switch off NAV1 and NAV2 individually to identify which one is audible.
- DME or ADF audio is enabled: use
Ctrl+3orCtrl+4, or deselect that source on the audio panel. - It is a marker beacon: a flashing blue, amber or white marker light indicates marker audio rather than a station’s Morse identifier. Deselect MKR on the audio panel.
- The shortcut was reassigned: check FS2004’s control assignments for the VOR, DME or ADF identifier toggle.
- An add-on uses a custom audio system: its cockpit switches may override or ignore FS2004’s default keyboard command. Use the add-on’s audio panel controls instead.
Should the beacon identifier be left switched on?
Listen long enough to confirm that the received code matches the intended VOR, localiser or NDB, then mute it if desired.
