Will original Flightstick profiles work with Flightstick II?
No automatic profile transfer should be expected because simulators generally store assignments against the detected device identity. Even where both sticks use similar control names, a copied profile can bind the wrong axis or leave revised buttons unassigned.
- Update and identify the device. Use the supported Turtle Beach utility for the exact model, then confirm that the operating system and simulator display the expected device.
- Create a clean profile. Bind pitch, roll, rudder and throttle before assigning secondary buttons or shifted controls.
- Test every axis through its full travel. Correct any reversed axis and make sure a lever is assigned to an axis command rather than throttle increase and decrease buttons.
- Remove duplicate assignments. Check gamepads, pedals, yokes and the unused twist axis. Two devices commanding rudder or throttle at once cause the jumping controls often mistaken for faulty hardware.
- Tune sensitivity last. Start close to the simulator defaults and add only enough dead zone to prevent unwanted movement. Large dead zones waste the fine control available from contactless sensing.

Does Flightstick II automatically support PS5 and Xbox?
Only the compatibility statement on the exact product box and model listing should be trusted. Xbox and PlayStation peripheral approval is not interchangeable, and Windows compatibility does not guarantee that the same USB device will work on either console.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 being available on PS5 does not make the Xbox-labelled original Flightstick a PS5 peripheral. Likewise, never assume that an II-branded unit supports Xbox merely because the original did. Retail listings sometimes reuse photographs or combine reviews from different editions, so verify the platform badge and model identifier before buying.
Is Flightstick II worth upgrading to?
The Flightstick II is worth choosing when its revised ergonomics suit your hand better, its exact edition supports your platform, or you are buying your first compact all-in-one controller. It is a weaker upgrade when the original already feels comfortable and all its axes and buttons work correctly.
- Keep the original if you fly on PC or Xbox, are satisfied with its grip and compact levers, and already have dependable profiles.
- Choose Flightstick II if the altered control layout solves an ergonomic problem or its labelled platform support matches hardware the original cannot serve.
- Buy a separate HOTAS instead if your real complaint is short throttle travel, limited detents or having both hands crowded around one base. A generational revision cannot remove those all-in-one design compromises.
