Fremont County’s published instrument coverage is limited to a single RNAV (GPS) approach serving one of its four runway ends. The other three ends have no published approach this cycle, and there is no airport diagram. Instrument operations therefore centre on one arrival alignment rather than offering procedure coverage across both runways.
The 5,399-ft asphalt runway is the principal strip by length and surface. The 1,800-ft turf-gravel runway provides another alignment, but aircraft requiring more than that length have no equivalent second option. Nearby, KCOS and KPUB have much broader procedure sets; KFLY and KANK are thinner but still exceed Fremont County’s coverage, while KFCS is similarly sparse. The Denver Sectional adds broader visual-reference context not supplied by the instrument charts.

CTAF 122.8. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.
Fremont County has 2 runways. The longest is 11/29 at 5,399 ft by 75 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.
No ILS is published. In total 1V6 has 1 published instrument approach, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).
Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.
The field elevation is 5,442 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.
No — Fremont County has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.
