Ellsworth’s two RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two runway ends, so published instrument access is not concentrated on a single direction. With no airport diagram or published departure procedure, the chart set is narrowly focused on arrivals and approach minima.
The 4,500 ft concrete runway is the only option for aircraft requiring either pavement or more than 1,955 ft of runway; the shorter strip is turf. Among nearby fields, Salina Regional has substantially broader procedure coverage, while Lyons-Rice County, Russell Municipal, Mc Pherson and Great Bend Municipal have totals much closer to Ellsworth’s compact set. The Wichita Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context absent from the instrument procedures.
