Instrument coverage

Wichita Valley’s instrument coverage consists of a single VOR approach despite its three runway alignments. There is no choice of published approach type and no airport diagram. The multiple alignments also differ markedly in length: paved runway 13/31 is only 213 ft longer than turf runway 04/22, while turf runway 16/34 is more than 1,000 ft shorter than either.

Nearby chart coverage

KSPS has by far the broadest procedure set among the nearby airports. KCWC, KFDR, 60F and F05 each have much thinner coverage, with only two to four published charts. The Dallas–Ft Worth Sectional adds the wider VFR context that Wichita Valley’s lone instrument procedure and lack of an airport diagram do not provide.
