Procedure coverage

Double Eagle II’s instrument coverage is concentrated on two of its four runway ends. The procedures combine ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) options, providing both ground-based and satellite-based guidance without covering every runway direction. Runway 04/22 is 1,415 ft longer than 17/35; any aircraft needing more than 5,983 ft is therefore limited to 04/22 by the published dimensions.

Regional chart context

Nearby chart coverage varies sharply. Albuquerque Intl Sunport has a much broader procedure set, while Santa Fe Rgnl is the closest comparison in overall coverage. Belen Rgnl, Moriarty Muni and Los Alamos have much thinner sets. The Albuquerque Sectional supplies the wider visual-navigation context absent from the airport diagram and instrument procedures.

Common questions about KAEG

What charts are available for KAEG?

10 current FAA charts for Double Eagle II, including 3 instrument approachs, 4 arrival procedures, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KAEG?

Ground 121.625; ATIS 119.025; CTAF 120.15; Clearance delivery 124.8. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KAEG?

Double Eagle II has 2 runways. The longest is 04/22 at 7,398 ft by 100 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KAEG have an ILS approach?

Yes — 1 ILS procedure is published. In total KAEG has 3 published instrument approaches, of which 2 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KAEG airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Double Eagle II is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

How high is KAEG?

The field elevation is 5,837 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KAEG a towered airport?

Yes. Double Eagle II has an operating control tower, within Albuquerque Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these KAEG charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
