Los Alamos has a narrowly focused procedure set: both published approaches are RNAV (GPS) procedures serving the same end of runway 09/27. The opposite end therefore has no published instrument approach in this cycle. With no airport diagram, the chart set is centred on approach procedures and associated minimums rather than ground-layout detail. The single 6,000 ft runway also provides only one operating alignment.
Nearby chart coverage varies sharply. Albuquerque International Sunport has by far the broadest set, while Santa Fe Regional and Double Eagle II also have substantially more procedures. Taos Regional is closer to Los Alamos in coverage, and Moriarty Municipal has an even thinner set. The Albuquerque and Denver sectional charts add the wider visual-navigation context not provided by the terminal procedures.
