Limited instrument coverage

A 10,000 ft runway gives Amedee AAF a substantial single-strip layout, but the procedure set is narrow: one RNAV (GPS) approach serves only one end of Runway 09/27. The reciprocal end has no published approach, and there is no airport diagram. The chart set therefore provides little procedural coverage beyond that single arrival path and the associated minimums.

Nearby chart coverage

Susanville Municipal and Reno/Stead each have five published charts, while Nervino and Rogers Field have similarly compact sets of three and four. Reno/Tahoe International is the clear contrast, with 45 charts offering much broader procedure coverage. The Klamath Falls and San Francisco sectional charts add the wider visual-navigation context around Herlong that the airport’s sparse instrument set does not provide.

Common questions about KAHC

What charts are available for KAHC?

2 current FAA charts for Amedee AAF, including 1 instrument approach. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KAHC?

CTAF 126.2. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KAHC?

Amedee AAF has 1 runway. The longest is 09/27 at 10,000 ft by 150 ft, porous asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KAHC have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KAHC has 1 published instrument approach, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at KAHC?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

Is KAHC a towered airport?

No — Amedee AAF has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.

Are these KAHC charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
