Selective RNAV coverage

Truckee-Tahoe’s three approaches are all RNAV (GPS) procedures, yet they serve only two of the airport’s four runway ends. Instrument arrival coverage is therefore selective rather than balanced across both directions of both runways; with three procedures assigned across two ends, at least one served end has more than one published option.

Runways and surrounding coverage

The two runway lengths create a clear dimensional split: runway 11/29 provides 2,347 ft more length than 02/20, so runway-length needs distinguish the two alignments sharply. Among nearby airports, Reno/Tahoe International has by far the broadest procedure set. Carson City, Reno/Stead, Minden-Tahoe and Lake Tahoe all have thinner chart coverage than Truckee-Tahoe. The San Francisco Sectional adds broader visual-navigation context beyond the airport diagram and terminal procedures.

Common questions about KTRK

What charts are available for KTRK?

10 current FAA charts for Truckee-Tahoe, including 3 instrument approachs, 1 departure procedure, 1 airport diagram. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KTRK?

Ground 118.3; ATIS 118.0; CTAF 120.575; UNICOM 122.95. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KTRK?

Truckee-Tahoe has 2 runways. The longest is 11/29 at 7,001 ft by 100 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KTRK have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KTRK has 3 published instrument approaches, of which 3 are RNAV (GPS).

Where can I download the KTRK airport diagram?

The official FAA airport diagram for Truckee-Tahoe is free to download at the top of this page. It shows runways, taxiways, ramp layout and hold-short positions, and is reissued every 28 days.

How high is KTRK?

The field elevation is 5,904 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.

Is KTRK a towered airport?

Yes. Truckee-Tahoe has an operating control tower, within Oakland Center's airspace. Tower, ground and clearance frequencies are listed on this page.

Are these KTRK charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
