Approach coverage across both runways

Buffalo Niagara International’s procedure set serves all four ends of its two runway alignments. The combination of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures gives the set more depth than a single approach to each end: instrument coverage is distributed across the whole runway configuration rather than concentrated on one direction. Both runways exceed 7,000 ft, with 05/23 extending 1,668 ft beyond 14/32; the layout therefore has two substantial runway lengths rather than one long runway paired with a short secondary strip.

Coverage beyond BUF

Niagara Falls International has 13 published charts, making its coverage closely comparable in breadth to BUF’s 14. The other listed nearby fields each have only three, a markedly thinner procedure set. The Detroit Sectional supplies the broader VFR context not provided by the terminal procedures.
