Chico Regional’s three approach plates provide four approach options: ILS and localiser procedures alongside two RNAV (GPS) approaches. With only two runway ends served, instrument coverage is concentrated rather than spread across both parallel runways. The airport diagram is particularly useful for distinguishing the two strips and the separate helipad.
The 6,724-ft runway offers substantially more usable length than its 3,000-ft parallel, making runway length a much tighter constraint on the shorter strip. Among nearby fields, Red Bluff Municipal’s six-chart set is closest in breadth to Chico’s seven, while Haigh Field’s two-chart coverage is notably thinner. The Klamath Falls and San Francisco sectionals add wider visual-navigation context beyond the procedure-specific instrument charts.
